GT Minority Graduate Programs & Recruitment Events

FACES

Facilitating Academic Careers in Engineering and Sciences.
This is a fellowship program for graduate african-american students in technical areas who express an interest in pursuing academic careers.

FOCUS

Georgia Tech's FOCUS recruiting program in 1992 with the goal of increasing the number of master's and doctoral degrees awarded to minorities not only at Georgia Tech, but also nationwide. FOCUS lays the groundwork for achieving this goal by bringing together minority undergraduates and high school students to meet with faculty, graduate students, alumni, and speakers from the corporate and government arenas. These experiences are designed to demonstrate to minority students how a graduate degree in science or technology can open the door to a life-changing career in academia, industry, or government.

OMED Graduate Transitions

GRADUATE TRANSITIONS is OMED's (Office of Minority Educational Development) program designed to help acclimate minority students to the academic and social environments and to introduce students to the many resources available here at Georgia Tech. The purpose of our planned activities during GRADUATE TRANSITIONS is to allow the new Georgia Tech Graduate student to become oriented to Georgia Tech by establishing a dialogue with returning students and learning from their shared experiences.

SURE

SURE is a ten-week summer research program designed to attract qualified minority students into graduate school in the fields of engineering and science.
